Business Profile

Pokrovskoe Mine is a leading Ukrainian producer of high-quality (grade “K”) hard coking coal. Launched in 1990 and currently controlled by local metallurgical group Donetskstal, Pokrovskoe is one of the most modern coal mines in Ukraine. With coal reserves of over 200 Mt, the company plans to double its production capacity to 12 Mt by commissioning a second shaft in 4Q11. The company doesn’t have its own washing plant and has to sell all run-of-mine output to Donetskstal.
