Dragon Capital Head of Research Andriy Bespyatov Interviewed on Russian RBC TV
February 22, 2008
Dragon Capital’s Head of Research Andriy Bespyatov spoke on “Markets: A Global View” for leading Russian business television channel RBC on Feb. 22. In the program, Andriy shared his view on key growth drivers for the Ukrainian stock market this year, highlighting upcoming IPOs by large domestic industrial holdings.
Excerpt: “While the Ukrainian stock market is unlikely in 2008 to repeat its last year’s 130% surge, foreign investors remain confident in the market’s bright prospects and discount its persistent political risks … The total volume of IPOs and private placements by Ukrainian companies on the domestic and foreign exchanges is set to increase by at least 60% in 2008 compared to 2007, thus injecting fresh liquidity into the market.”
RBC’s program on Ukraine was prompted by a recent statement by President Viktor Yushchenko who said development of the stock market was to become a priority for the government as part of a broader effort to increase foreign capital inflows in Ukraine.

Dragon Capital Investment Banking Director Brian Best Interviewed on CNBC Europe
October 4, 2007
Dragon Capital’s Brian Best, the company’s managing director for Investment Banking, spoke with Geoff Cutmore on “Squawk Box” for CNBC Europe in London on Oct. 3. In the interview, Brian answered questions about the effect of Ukraine’s Sept. 30 parliamentary elections on its future economic stability, relations with Russia, Ukrainian equity markets and the country’s increasing appeal for foreign (western) investors. Excerpt: “I think (the recent global equities turmoil) could have a positive effect on Ukraine. I see that investors are still looking for growth stories; they’re still looking for high yields. Ukraine’s risk profile hasn’t changed that much vis-à-vis what’s happening in the West, so I think it could actually spur more investment in the region as investors continue to look for good growth. Fundamentally, Ukraine is still quite strong.”
