Olena Prytula and Tomas Fiala Announce Ownership Change at Ukrayinska Pravda

The parties also agreed that the editorial policy of Ukrayinska Pravda and its operational principles will remain unchanged.

“Same as with our existing media project, NV, we will maintain the practice of non-interference by the owner into Ukrayinska Pravda’s editorial policy and are pleased to announce the signing of a relevant document that will be publicly available on the UP website,” said Tomas Fiala.

The Ukrayinska Pravda team, led by Editor-in-Chief Sevgil Musaieva, will continue their work in close cooperation with Olena Prytula, who will continue in her role as founding editor.

“Throughout the entire 21 years of Ukrayinska Pravda’s operations, the interests of the reader and Ukrainian society at large were the top priority for our team. This principle is laid out on paper in the editorial agreement with UP’s new owner and will remain inviolable and of utmost importance to us in our work going forward,” said Sevgil Musaieva.

Dragon Capital sees this investment as another step towards supporting free media and freedom of speech in Ukraine, being also confident that digital media have great prospects as a business and their popularity will keep growing in the coming years.

Dragon Capital’s extensive experience with other projects in digital media and related industries, as well as additional investments into UP’s content production and infrastructure, will help make the publication even more appealing to the reader and strengthen its market leadership.

The editorial board of NV, another media project of the Dragon Capital group of companies, will continue to operate completely independently from the UP editorial board.
